about mylife housing

A life-changing health scare and a move back home after 12 years abroad, forced me to re-evaluate what was important in my life. Things previously taken for granted had a whole new meaning: my health, my independence, having family and friends close by and living in a home that made me happy. I realised these are the things most people want, but sadly not everyone can have. Especially if you are someone living with a disability.

In September 2018, the Department of Health reported there were approximately 6000 people with a disability under 65 years of age, living in aged care facilities across Australia. There are many more people with a disability currently living in group homes or with family, who have indicated a strong desire to move to their own place and find greater independence and privacy while maintaining proximity to family, friends and services.

MyLife Housing was established as an SDA provider to meet these basic needs.  We understand the importance of a home. Our home is where we find comfort, solace, joy and love. Home is where we feel safe and supported.

Our vision is to provide each and every person with a disability, with a fresh, fit for purpose home within a community they can belong to. A home they are proud to live in, where they can interact with neighbours, entertain family and friends and be close to transport and shops.

MyLife Housing understands there is no place like home.
